Subprocessors

The third parties that process data on our behalf to make HomeAtlas work — each one’s purpose and what it receives. This list is drawn from the actual data flows in the app.

The short versionNo advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting services. No data brokers. No trackers. The processors below are the ones genuinely required to deliver features — AI answers, subscriptions, recall alerts, and weather.

Anthropic	Answers to your equipment questions; capture understanding	Your question, relevant manual passages, and the item’s context. Retained ~30 days; not used for training.
OpenAI	Finding the right passages in your manuals (embeddings)	Your question with the item’s make/model/category, and manual text. Not used for training.
Cohere	Ranking retrieved passages	Your question and candidate passages only. Opt-out of training verified.
Google (Cloud Vision)	Reading text from photos you scan (OCR)	The photo you scan. Stateless; not retained by us.
Serper	Locating an owner’s manual online	The brand and model as a search query. Nothing else.

What is never sent to any AI partner: your name or account identity, passwords or access codes, serial numbers, your contacts’ phone numbers or emails, or service-visit symptoms and diagnoses. The full data-flow detail is in the privacy policy.

Infrastructure & platform

Supabase	Database and backend hosting	Your account data. Sensitive fields are encrypted on your device before they reach it — stored as ciphertext we cannot read.
RevenueCat	Managing subscriptions	A pseudonymous identifier and subscription status. No payment details.
Apple	App distribution, billing, and push notifications	Payment and subscription handling (Apple-owned); device push token.
Expo	Delivering push notifications and app updates	Push relay for notifications, which for recall alerts can include the equipment name. (What Expo’s update service receives is noted as under review below.)

Weather & recalls

Open-Meteo	Weather data	Location by ZIP-code area.

Recall information comes from the public CPSC recall database.

Noted honestly — under review

App-update service data: exactly what our over-the-air update provider (Expo/EAS Update) receives is being verified and will be reflected here precisely.
Third-party manual pages: when you open a manufacturer’s manual page, that opens the manufacturer’s own web page inside the app. That page is governed by the manufacturer’s policies, not ours, and may set its own cookies. We do not track your reading of it.
